I ma 55 year old male hypertensive patient. I am taking amlodipine and Lisinopril for my blood pressure. Recently my doctor has prescribed me tamsulosin for my urine problem. I have prostate enlargement which causes decreased urinary flow and difficulty in urination. since I have started tamsulosin, my BP is low, My question is can tamsulosin decrease blood pressure. I am Dr. Adil Ramzan. 
Yes, tamsulosin may decrease the blood pressure. As you are already on anti-hypertensive medications and tamsulosin may augment the effects of other antihypertensive because tamsulosin also dilates the blood vessels so your blood pressure may decrease. Now as you are complaining of decreased blood pressure, so you need a dose adjustment of your other anti-hypertensives. Please visit your doctor, he will decrease the dose of your current anti-hypertensive or he may stop one of anti-hypertensives. You need dose adjustment.
