Thank you for your time Dr. I really hope you can help. First off I need to take you back to where it all started. On Oct. 20, 1998 I was shot in the head while I was at work. The 1st yr. (workman’s comp. paid for) me to see a psychologist only for one yr. & it seemed like we were making some progress. My whole world changed. I’m disabled & cannot work anymore. I have medicare/medicaid, they will send me to a psychiatrist, which even before I was diagnosed, they gave me pills. I don’t like to take them pills, it’s not me. I need to try & find a balanced/normal life again. I have so much anger & stress & if (the smallest of things)for which I try to do & can’t (the 1st time I try) Man, do I really go off & explode, I’m yelling at myself, but my dog thinks I’m yelling at her. I’m so tired of feeling depressed, worthlessness & just always in a bad mood, so then all’s I want to do is sleep all day, thinking maybe if I lay down for a while I will wake up on in a better mood, yeah right. I’m not very sociable anymore & I don’t excercise. I did quit smoking cigs, (in Oct. it will be 2 yrs.) I’m so afraid that I’m going to give myself or my dog a stroke or heart attack. Can you please help. Thank you so much. P.s. I do have high blood pressure/hypertension, depression & anxiety

Thank you for asking the quesiton.
Stress, anger, and psychological problems are treated best when the person who is suffering from them is willing for the treatment. I am very happy to see that you want to get rid of this situation and you are following a psychiatrist. I want to know are you taking some medications to help you? There’s nothing wrong in taking help from medications if it is too difficult for you to control your emotion. I suggest you continue to follow with your psychiatrist. There are different therapies and medications, if one doesn’t work we may add another, and once you understand your situation and current circumstances and learn and agree to live with them, then your doctor may wean you off from the pharmacological or behavioral support. I would like to know more about your current therapy.
Thank you.
