Medical QuestionsCategory: Drug informationRogaine (minoxidil) is effective for hair growth?
Anonymous asked 8 years ago

I want to use Rogaine (minoxidil) 5% as I have hair loss. I want to know is it effective, or there are just rumors, or the hair growth will be just temporary.
Regards.

Dear Alex.
One of the studies showed that hair fall doesn’t occur up to 48 weeks after stopping the minoxidil, but there are few other studies which contradict this hypothesis. So in my opinion, it is the genetic makeup of the individual, which determines how fast the effect of minoxidil should wear off.
So it depends on your own genetic makeup, For some people minoxidil may be very effective, but for others it may not. I hope you are getting my point.
I wish you best of luck
